OverviewOver the course of a 10-week immersive internship, I gained hands-on experience at one of Austin's premier re-wholesaling nurseries. Operating in a fast-paced environment supporting both landscape contractors and the general public, I developed a comprehensive understanding of how large-scale inventory management, sales, and cross-functional operations drive business growth in the green industry.
- Cross-Functional Operations: Rotated across all major departments—including sales, inventory, receiving, deliveries, accounting, and HR—to gain a top-down view of nursery operations and supply chain management.
- B2B Sales & Client Relations: Shadowed the senior B2B sales team, mastering the internal sales system to build customer quotes and manage client accounts. Completed targeted B2B sales training.
- AI Chatbot Integration: Spearheaded a unique technical project for the HR department by setting up an AI-powered chatbot fed with internal documents for employee rapid training.

OverviewOver the course of an 8-week rotational internship at GreenLeaf Nursery Company, I gained a comprehensive view of large-scale commercial nursery operations. Operating at one of the top producing nurseries in the country, I worked directly alongside supervisors and labor crews to master the lifecycle of producing high-quality trees and shrubs for the B2B green industry.
- Nursery Operations & Production: Gained extensive hands-on experience by completing multi-day rotations with every major supervisor and labor crew. Executed essential tasks including shifting plants, shearing, removing diseased branches, and managing dead plant disposal.
- Disaster Recovery: Played a critical role in facility recovery efforts following Hurricane Beryl by removing damaged shade cloth and plastic from overwintering structures and salvaging inventory to minimize crop loss.
- Operational Analysis: Analyzed workforce management and labor efficiency, observing the complex challenges of seasonal labor hours and considering operational models utilizing H2A programs to stabilize workforce consistency.
